Help Can't Purchase Apps with Straight Talk

Just signed up with Straight Talk using BYOP, (my own phone). Now I can't buy any apps. Only free apps can be downloaded. Could this be a Straight Talk issue? Apparently it's an account issue. My email address in Play store is different than what it was before I switched. Can't see how to go back to my old address or how to tell Play Store to use my new one.
