Help Cant read some group MMS messages

Group MMS Issue

When I am involved in a group text, I am able to read most of the replies. However, some of the replies come is and actually say "MMS".. that is the only message showing from these senders.. It is always the same senders.. One had a windows phone and the other has an Android phone..

If I send to these people individually, it works fine.. this is only during a group text message.
 
They may have an option set to send group messages as MMS. Some android message apps have this as an option, and I think for some US networks it's the default. Can you receive MMS normally?

Yes, I can receive MMS normally.. When they send to others in a group text it goes through fine, for me it actually says "MMS"

What messaging app are you using? I've found the stock one to be less than stellar. Try another one, Textra, Google Messenger or Hangouts have all worked well (I'm using HO's right now).

Also, go through you settings and make sure you have them tweaked. Make sure group messaging is selected.
 
I am using the stock app but have also tried "messaging plus" same thing happens with that app.. It is only from a select few people that I cannot read their MMS in a group chat.

Ive gone through my settings and all looks good unless I am missing something.
 
The stock app depends on what device you have. TBH I've never heard of "messaging plus". Try some of the apps Clem recommends: group messaging is something that not all apps handle well, so it's worth seeing whether one of them will fix it.
 
Oh and. Did either of those guys ever have iPhones? There are issues with iMessage not 'releasing' after changing phones. Well, there are just issues with iMessage but... :p

Nope, neither of these guys ever had an iPhone.. YUK!

Its strange cause they don't have issues sending group messages to anyone else, including other android users.. Just me.
 
The only other thing I can think to do is clear cache and data in the app. Settings>>Apps>>select messaging app>>clear cache and then data. Data may erase your history so save them first if you want to keep them. SMS Backup+ is great for that, saves them right to Gmail.
 
Messaging+ is a Verizon messaging app... My favorite feature is that I can link my tablet and send sms from there.... Shows on phone and tablet...
