Cant receive MMS from another S8

So I have a weird problem with my S8.

I cannot get pictures my wife sends me from her S8. I can SEND her pictures and she receives them fine. I can get pictures from everyone else, including group chats, with no problem.

But ONLY when my wife sends me pictures, I get a blurry preview and it will say "0 /3.2MB"

Been happening for a while. On wifi or data, doesn't matter.

There was one time where something clicked and all the sudden it downloaded every picture she event sent me. Then back to the problem I described above.

We are on same plan/carrier and have same phone.

I'm having the same issue but my wife has the Note 8. We've tried going through all the settings but haven't found a solution yet. It would be great to solve this.....

Ask your wife to set her resolution down a bit in her Camera app's Settings menu as a temp test and see if that makes any difference. By using a lessor resolution this results in smaller file sizes.
SMS/MMS are inherently very low-bandwidth protocols, MMS simply cannot support relatively large file sizes. When it involves texting attachments, images and videos get automatically scaled down by the carriers, in your case since you both have the same carrier maybe some odd glitch is messing things up.

In our case it's not just pictures taken with the camera it's also screenshots and downloaded images.

OK so you might want to check your phone's APN settings. Your profile indicates you're using Sprint, if so try this:
http://buzzmobile.us/sprint-apn-settings-android-us/

Sprint phones also tend to have a unique Settings option to 'Update PRL' (Preferred Roaming List, this just being a table with current cell towers) and 'Update device config'. The two will be buried pretty deep in your Settings menu. On one of my phones they're in Settings >> Wireless & networks >> More >> Cellular networks >> Carrier Settings. On another it's Settings >> More >> System Update so just dig around a bit.

This last suggestion is a bit more drastic (probably less hassle to just manually check your APN settings). There's a 'Network settings reset' option, probably buried in Settings >> Wireless & networks >> ?? on your S8. This Network settings reset does what it says, it clears all your network related settings so things like saved WiFi networks, Bluetooth pairing options, app data restrictions you've set up, will all need to be re-done. If you have a VPN implemented it'll be disabled so you need to enable it again. And it returns your mobile data/cellular config back to its defaults.

Thanks for the info Svim but in my situation my S8 doesn't allow for the APN settings adjustment. For some reason the screen is locked and won't allow for the changes to be made. I did do the update to the PRL but random images are unable to download.

Well you still have options, trying to see if a different texting app works out better or using 'Network settings reset'.

Well Svim I tried the Network settings reset but we're still having the issues.it looks like we'll have to go third party app to get MMS pictures. Samsung blames Sprint and Sprint blames Samsung so I'm not sure who's at fault for the issue???
