Help Can't receive text messages from one single number

The owner of this number checked, and their messages are going through, but for some reason I can't receive them. I do not even have a block/spam list option on my phone (Alcatel OneTouch), so I know that's not the problem, and restarting my phone or changing to a different network and back didn't help either. I can send messages to all numbers as well as this one, but can't receive SMS from just this one number.

Any advice?
 
Are all of their messages always going through? Are you both using a stock messaging app? I had some problems with a thrid party messaging app and when I updated my phone and started using normal messaging app apparently several people had messages through that I had sent through days or even weeks before that they never received.
 
Pretty unusual (not impossible I guess) for an sms app to not blacklist.

Just to be sure - if it's not an sms menu option - does it appear if you long press the thread in the sms thread list view?
 
Both using a stock messaging app, all of the text go through for both of us, except I don't get the messages from his number. The blacklist/block/spam option isn't available anywhere on the phone at all. Trust me, I checked.
 
The problem isn't on their side, as I've said, they've checked with their network company, and the messages go through, it's my phone that isn't receiving them for whatever reason.
