Root Can't root due to phone denying write permission

Lurker
So I'm not sure why I can't root/write anything to my droid razr maxx (hd)
I already read the other thread who couldn't write anything too but I already have done all of those things
I have tried using media device, and camera and both don't work
I have the latest drivers installed and I'm running 4.1.2
I have usb debugging enabled of course
I have tried updating to a more recent 4.1.2 update
I have tried razr blade and djrbliss
I run everything as administrator
I have tried restarting my computer
I have tried re-installing the drivers
I have tried not using usb debugging, rebooting, then enabling it again

At this point I think that I can't write for whatever reason on my razr maxx (hd) as I don't have permission to

Am I missing something and just making some stupid mistake? I'm at a complete loss

Also I know not many will care as it's a older phone but I really don't want to go and buy another phone just so I can root it

Since it appears you have a Razr Maxx HD rather than a normal Razr Maxx, I've moved this thread to the Razr Maxx HD root forum.

I have used motochopper and razr blade and with both I had the same issue of not being able to write over any files. I'll probably just format and flash my phone to see if that does anything
Also sorry for posting in the wrong place. Didn't notice it wasn't the maxx hd

Your best bet is to go full KK which allows you to unlock your bootloader which then you could root via sideload.

Basically, update to KK. Get towelroot installed and run it to root your phone. Then, get the motopocalypse app and unlock your bootloader and profit from having an unlocked bootloader which means you no longer have to rely on root exploits anymore.

But, get the current KK update and unlock your phone now. I'm currently on the latest soak test and I have verified that towelroot still works with it, but I cannot guarantee if the bootloader unlock exploit will still be there, so best do update to the latest KK FXZ for this phone and not take any OTAs until after you've unlocked just to be safe.

Go here first to upgrade to KK -> How To: XT926 Upgrade to KitKat OTA - VZW Droid Razr/Razr Maxx HD General [XT926] - {Q&A, Discussion} - DroidRzr.com

Then, go here to root and unlock your phone -> [ROOT/UNLOCK] 4.4.2 182/183 RAZR HD/M *ONLY* - VZW Droid Razr/Razr Maxx HD Development [XT926] - DroidRzr.com
