Help Can't Save Image from Text Message

Anyone having a recent problem saving an image set in a text message? I used to be able to tap the image and get the menu where "save" was an option. Seems the only options now are to set the image as a wallpaper for my home or lock screens, and contacts thumbnail. Can't find any options to correct this problem in "settings." Any ideas?

when you just tap the message, a menu pops up? when i do, the slideshow thing starts playing. or maybe no one without an android phone has sent a picture to my S3 yet... but once im in the slideshow, if i press the menu button, the option to save the attachment is there. then again, if i longpress the message, the option to save the attachment shows up there, too... i dunno. sorry for rambling

For me photos in text messages show up as 5 second videos - very frustrating and completely pointless.
