Can't see how to check what the updates are ?

High not to confuse people here ; I do know how to manually update. But how do I check what the updates are going to be ? Since on a low storage phones I only want to update with patches and security updates and not with other advancements of the app. My model is the Huawei Y300 Google plays build is version 4.8.20. I see no written explanation of what is about to be updated on manually updating. I have been advised to only update with patches and security to save space but I can only see the "what's new" section in the Google play write up for the app. I don't think that what it's actually updated with though ! Where should I look and on updating is there a pop up I am missing or something ?

I should love to resolve this for all future activity. Nothing is on Google at all with multiple combinations of search I have used. If your a marketer please blog on it if there is an answer by all means.

Many thanks for all the prior help on my other recent thread on phone storage that was greatly appreciated. This is on updating a little different I had recognised.

You can't choose the update. It updates you to the latest. It won't matter if you skip updates or not, it will still end up the same size.

High thanks thats the other bit I forgot to ask , so thanks for that. What I actually meant was -

Can I see what is in the update before I choose to update. So if for example it was a bundle of updates like security , patches , improvements etc ; could i still see what they were prior to updating ?

If not why not ? - or if you don't no this its less of a concern compared to the above questions for me.

Many thanks if you can just confirm a few things here for me.

Much appreciated !

When an update for an app is available, there will be a description of the update in the Play store. Because this is supplied by the developer, there may be varying amounts of actual information about what is in the update. Some will be vague (i.e. "bug fixes"), others will list specific fixes and other changes.
Note that updates for most user apps will not take up additional space on the phone as the update replaces the existing version of the app with the new one. So memory usage would increase only if the size of the updated version is larger than the one it is replacing.
System apps may take up more space when they update as they do keep the old version. You can tell which apps do this by looking in their properties under app management, if you see an option to "uninstall updates" it means there is an older version saved in addition to the current updated one.
