Sorry to tell you this but, not all phones are root-able. What is misunderstood is, that if it is Android, it is can be rooted. That may have been the case in the early years but it is becoming more difficult. There are so many variations on the original Android design.

Also, if a phone or other device is rooted, this does not ensure a complete freedom. There is still a huge obstacle between you and the OS. This is known as a Bootloader:
