Help Can't Send 8mp mms-"unable to attach"

Has anyone had trouble texting a picture they took with their S3? I took a couple yesterday (res set to 8MP), and it didn't resize it so it failed. I had to crop the photo down to get it to send out. Anyone have a similar issue or workaround (other than lowering the MP or editing)? TIA.
 
I have a verizon s3 and am not able to send 8mp pics that I take with my camera thru stock mms. When I try to attach pic it says too large, compressing and then I get an error "unable to attach.File not supported." Funny enough I have discovered that it will send vertical pictures i take in 8mp resolution but not horizontal pictures. If i change to 6mp it will send pics no problems. A phone restart will also fix the problem temporarily and then it just decides to stop. Anyone else having this problem and is this a problem that will be fixed with an update? Do I have a bad phone? Any suggestions for the stock messaging other then installing 3rd party app?
 
It happened to me for the first time yesterday after having the phone for a week. A quick reboot solved the issue. I'll post again if it's recurring

Had the same problem. I posted a thread earlier. I haven't rebooted to see if that helped. I had to crop the photo.

Mine is now attaching, but it stays in eternal send mode. I sent a MMS to several people and it just said sending for over 12 hours. Restarted, powered off, and batt pulled. No change. One MMS was only a vcf contact card not even a pic. Has VZW done something screwy with data on their 3G? I don't have 4G near my home and all were sent from there. When I go into a 4G tonight I'll try and see if it's better or not.
 
Ive been using Handcent Sms app after suffering with the problem on Verizon. I even have 4g so that's not the issue. Handcent so far seems like a far better text app and it sends mms without a problem. Give it a shot, it's free.

Can you use the beta swype keyboard with it? I hated swype when I tried it the first time right after it came out a few years ago, but now I find I like it.

Okay so sad to say it was user error DOH :stupido2::stupido2::stupido2: Some how I had touched the mobile data toggle and turned it off so it would not send. As soon as I saw that and turned it back on all was fixed.

What do you mean? Mine is doing the same thing so what do I need to do to fix it?

My problem was somehow I had accidentally turned off the mobile data toggle and it would not do anything data wise. I've had it refuse to attach once since that time and I had to restart and it cleared.

Not sure what mine is then cause the mobile data is on and functioning. Maybe Samsung will fix it with the next update. Guess that only means a 6mo wait because of VZW then lol

That's also if the CRAPPLE FRUITS don't find a way to claim they invented picture taking like they did the rounded rectangle.
 
i have a similar problem i can send pictures to friends,, but i cant post pictures to any other sites like facebook can any one help me ?
 
MMS used to be limited to 100KB and some phones offered expanding that to 300KB, so no way to send 5MB ;)
 
MMS is a bit outdated and very expensive. Surely every phone that accepts MMS nowadays receives e-mail too?

MMS cost a fixed amount which is still MASSIVELY more for a 300KB photo than a 2MB photo would be in data costs if attached to email.
 
since mms can seriously degrade a photo during compression, I just email pictures to people from my phone using share...I am on Sprint though so I am not too concerned about data usage.
