cant send or recieve pics with vm iphone user

my mom has a iphone 4 from VM and she cant send or recieve pictures with me (i have lg f3) and doesnt work with most others she tries either, only one other family member that has a iphone from a different carrier can send and recieve pics. any ideas?

iMessage doesn't use standard protocols, so there's a problem exchanging MMS between normal SMS programs and iMessage. Apple hs been aware of this for years and evidently doesn't intend to do anything about it. Tell her to use email instead.

My gf had the same problem when she had an iPhone 4. Her iPhone 5 sends MMS fine though. But yeah, its a known iPhone problem

I guess it's an iPhone 4 on VM issue.

My brother had iphone 4 on Verizon, we never had problem exchanging pictures.

My wife just got an iPhone 5 on VM USA, I sent her picture for the past month without issues.

My brother switched to VM USA with iphone 5S 2 weeks ago, no issue either.
