Can't send text messages with app.

Ok so I have an LG Thrive and I text using apps over wifi. But recently I haven't been able to text my friends because they aren't receiving my messages. I have tried multiple devices and over 20 different apps but no cigar. My wifi signal is 100% up and idk what the problem is. I sent a couple texts then waited a week and they still didn't get them. Could it be something with my modem? Please help. Also, my friends have Verizon and tmobile so it can't be the provider.

I used the apps such as Pinger Heywire Textnow etc.

Have you tried Google Voice? You can use that to send text messages over the data connection. Actually, you can also take phone calls over your data connection as well and you can choose a phone number and everything. Might be worth while to check out.
