cant send texts on Galaxy S

I can't send texts on my Galaxy S (old phone). I receive calls and can call out and can also receive texts. When I send texts it logs as date and time but shows on individual text histories as 'sending'.
 
Have you rebooted your phone?
Is this using an old SIM card?
Which carrier do you have? Are texts blocked on the old SIM?
