I'm using Android 6.0 on an HTC One M8.
I have placed several mp3 files in the notifications and ringtones folders on my phone's internal storage, as I like to use custom ringtones. It's worked fine since I've had the phone, which has been at least a year or two. However, since updating Android to 6.0, my phone will no longer set a custom text message tone. (It continues to use my custom call tone, so that's okay.)
In the notification sound menu under the text message settings, my phone shows me all the mp3 files I've put in the notifications folder. But even though I can actually select and apply them, the phone will only show that I have "Default rington(Dahlia)" selected. I can choose one of the other Android default tones and it will accept my selection. But if I choose my own file it reverts to the Dahlia one.
What can I do to get my phone to use my custom ringtone?
