A few weeks ago my Droid stopped syncing my corporate email unless I have outlook open. It was working perfectly for a couple of months and then just stopped. If outlook is open and connected to the exchange server, the email on my droid syncs perfectly with push. If outlook is not online, my Droid never gets any new mail from the exchange server.
My email resides on an ms exchange 2003 server and my outlook clients (2007 and 2010) connect to the server (no local pst files).
My phone is on Verizon and running ICS (4.0.4) and I am using the standard email app.
I have the sync set to automatic (push) but have tried 5, 15, and minute intervals as well.
I have removed the account and set it up again as well.
I have a gmail account and another account that sync just fine.
To me this sounds like a problem on the Exchange server but nobody else in our company is having this problem and I don't know what else to check for a solution.
Any ideas??
UPDATE (12-09-2012)
The push and interval based sync does not work at all now.
I have also found that changing a message (opening, marking read or unread, deleting, etc) will cause that single message to be synced to the Droid when I force a sync.
Doing the same using the regular Outlook client will also cause that single message to be synced but will sometimes also cause all messages received after that one by the exchange server to be synced as well.
I hate to cross post but if there are no ideas here, can anybody point me to a different forum?
