can't text phone is low on space

my phone is saying phone space is getting low and it wont let me text? how do i clear it up?
 
Delete old conversation threads.

Clear app caches. (Setting > Application Manager > (Any app) > Clear cache) This will delete things like search histories and stored info (careful with games some will lose where you were).
