cant turn on all the way

I have a galaxy tab 2 10.1. I am trying to turn it on and all I keep getting is the symbol that makes a circle and the name galaxy tab keep popping up over and over like its on repeat. prior to turning my tablet off I was trying to log onto the internet and it kept booting me right out and putting me back on the tablet home page. So I turned it off. And now I am at this problem

Your tab is stuck in what is know as "boot loop." This usually happens because you lost power or data connection during an update. If you can, try booting recovery mode (instructions here). Once in Recovery menu, clear all data and reboot (via menu). This will clear all your app data, and you'll have to reconfigure everything, but it's better than the situation you are in now.
