Help Can't type in Chrome!

I'm having a strange issue on my S8 since the last software update. I can't type in chrome.

When I load Chrome and it gives me the home screen with the search bar, recent sites and news feed, I can type in the search bar. But once I'm actually into the browser, I can't type, not even a flashing cursor appears in text boxes! For example, I couldn't even login here as I couldn't input my details, I've had to come on my computer to do it!

It's not the keyboard I'm using either as I changed over to the stock keyboard and it was the same with that too.

I've tried clearing the data from both Chrome and keyboards but with no joy.

Is anyone else experiencing this or can shed some light on it?!

Same has happened with me. I do find however that clearing cache allows me to continue typing. I thought it was gboard originally and went back to using swype but problem persists. Very annoying.

This seems to have resolved itself with an update. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again. It was so bad I started using the stock android browser! Lol

Still doing it for me. Went to apps, cleared cache in chrome, went back to search bar and could type again. No updates available at moment so using most up to date version of chrome available to me

I was a little quick to shout 'fixed' too. I'm able to type some places but not others.

For example, I've written this from my phone but if a do a search from my chrome home screen and then try search for something else, it won't let me
