I know it is suppose to auto update it if I wait like over night will that happen or is there something I have to do?

Hi, Bree, and welcome to Android Forums!

It's very likely that the Google Play Store has updated to the latest version that Jellybean can handle. It's an older operating system, and it's perfectly functional... a newer Play Store is probably not compatible with Jellybean. So there's no reason to hold your breath for a newer Play Store.

With some of the recent flagships (running Marshmallow) coming down in price, have you considered upgrading your phone? The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition is a great device, as are some of the other phones released in the last year. Swappa is a fantastic place to find gently-used phones in pristine condition. I hope this helps!

I had a newer store before I factory reset it so I know one exists. as for getting a new phone I am currently unemployed and my boyfriend pays my current bill and since he refuses to pay more than $35 a month for a plan I am stuck with a really cheap virgin mobile phone I was looking into newer phones they offer today but still way to much for what he is willing to spend on a phone for me. so yeah im kinda stuck with this one.
