Help Can't users in Mauritania download paid or free apps available on the Google Play Store?

A friend in Mauritania told me that he could find and view details of my paid app on Google Play while he failed to download the app at all. He kept on getting "This item isn't available in your countrty" error.

Then, I opened the Google Play Console, selected my paid app, and then went to 'Release - Production'. In the 'Countries / regions' tab, I clicked 'Add countries / regions'. But the alert message was 'No countries / regions to add'.

To my surprise, there isn't 'Mauritania' in the list of 'all countries / regions(177)' at all!

What's wrong?! I wonder why Mauritania is not in the list of 'all countries / regions(177)'.

Can't users in Mauritania download paid or free apps available on the Google Play Store?

I don't know anything about Mauritania apart from a ship had the same name, but my first thought is Google Play officially available there, or is it banned or blocked? Like it is in China, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, etc.

FWIW I'm actually in China, but I do have full access to pretty much everything on Google Play, because my Google Account country is for the United States, and I'm using a VPN.

The point is, Mauritania is not in the list 'all countries / regions' at all. Then, as a dev, I couldn't select & add this country into the list 'available countries / regions' for that app in the Google Play Console.
So, this situation is different from what you said. Anyway, thank you for your reply. :)

My point is, is if your client is in a country(or has a Google Account) in a country that Google Play is banned, then they're NOT going to see your apo. Which is Mauritania apparently. Maybe your client can change their Google Account country, to where Google Play isn't blocked, like USA? That's what I did. They might need to use a VPN, depending if the Mauritanian govt blocks access to Google.

I just watched The Mauritanian (with Jodie Foster) on a rare foray into Amazon Prime.
Mr Slahi held xx (spoiler avoided) in Gitmo. It didn't report on the national attitude to the US at the end, but imagine it's not great.

Not taking sides; I'm still swaying both ways on that case.

Isn't The Mauritanian on Disney +?
Pedro Pascal and Grogu?

@Dannydet
Possibly on Disney + too, I saw it free on Prime

but as any Star Wrek reference goes over my head, apart from Kirk and Spock, my Google search suggests you're thinking of The Mandalorian, which I know nothing about ;)

Google has replied to me acknowledging that Mauritania is not available for app distribution at this time. o_O

Like I said- just use another appstore.

If Google doesn't want your business, then screw them.

In fact, you are really better off.
Screw them more if they DO want your business.
