Root Canvas 2 custom rom installation problem please help!!?

i downloaded canvas4(4.2.1) rom for my canvas 2 (ics-4.0) . i installed it after going to cwm recovery.but after installation it gets stuck at the m logo. is it due to android version difference or the rom comes with android update

Buddy you cant just flash any phones ROM you have to properly port it and to use ROM of different version of Android you need to have the boot.img/kernel of the that version flashed first.
