Help Car bluetooth call audio not responding

I just got the galaxy 3 for Verizon and every time I step into my car, my phone connects but only the Media audio. Every time I want to use my cars Bluetooth I have to manually select call audio on my phone. I want to be able to step into my car and not have to worry about connecting my phone manually every single time to take calls!!! Note i had no problem whatsoever with my droid X. Someone help PLEASE!!!

I'll move this over to our main gs3 forum where hopefully more eyes will see it, so you should get an answer.

Go to your bluetooth setting and hold it down for a few seconds. A menu will pop up. next to your pair deviced their is a small setting icon to the right. try checking the box call audio. Hope it works!!!

I have found that my car will not auto-connect unless the phone is active, ie not in screen timeout. I just squeeze the on/off as I get in the car and put the phone on the seat next to me. My screen timeout is set to 15 seconds, so that gives me enough time to start the car and then it auto-connects. Little bit of a pain, since my Ip4 connected automatically every time.

I'm having the same problem -- and this is really frustrating because my "old" HTC dinc would just pair.

Every time I get into the car, it only pairs media audio (music). I check the box for car audio, unpair, repair -- and it's OK.

And then next time, it's the same thing -- the box for car audio remains unchecked.

Is there any way at all to keep that box checked -- or do we have to mess with this every single time?

i have a tunelink bluetooth adapter and I have to manually connect each time and even then it only plays media audio and not phone. ???

I had the exact same issue, but i did a factory reset and upgraded my firmware and now it works fine. Before it was a huge PIA as i basically had to pick call audio over media every time.

I'm a newb to android and don't want to lose all the settings and apps so am not ready to do a factory reset. There must be some other way - i guess i should look into what firmware i am running.. maybe ill re-pair tunelink

Which firmware update is this? As far as I know, since I only got this S3 a few weeks ago, it is running the latest firmware.
