Help car Bluetooth won't answer call until I swipe to answer

Why is it my Bluetooth won't pick up the connection to my Sony Xperia until I swipe to answer the call on the phone? The instant I do, the call is connected through the Bluetooth. The phone is typically in lock mode, could this be why, and if so, what to do about it?
 
Car Bluetooth is flakey at best because manufacturers update Bluetooth and when they do it's not backwards compatible. I can only get mine to pair. It drops calls. You could take the car to a dealer to see if they can flash your Bluetooth model with update software. If they can't then the module will need to be replaced
 
I read on another post here to try a third-party launcher called Go Launcher - it seems to have done the trick!
 
Glad you got it working. I have tried most apps on Playstore and my BT still drops connectionc
 
fortunately I don't have that problem of lost connection ... yet. but this is a brand new car, brand new BT, so I figured it was more a problem with my older android than the BT
