car holder Galaxy S4

Lurker
Can anyone recommend a sturdy car holder for S4 with Otterbox Defender cover? My hubby drives a dump truck and will not use a bluetooth headset.

Hello and welcome to the forums . I see your looking for a sturdy holder for your s4 . but inside a dump truck the only thing would be your hands .:D haha just having some laughing moments now will he mind a windshield mount

Well the 2 links but as I said I prefer the windshield mounts easy to use and guess what his eyes never left the road. And when u leave the vehicle its sitting for easy access to remove with the option to plug in for battery charge or not

I actually made my own. Used an older windshield mount, and bought a second holster for the Defender, which I replaced the original cradle of the mount with. Has worked like a charm

Planning on replacing the mount with Ramline parts, so I can easily swap the thing between my car and my bike (for use of GPS on longer trips)

Sorry guys, but iOttie, iGrip, and other ones will not hold Defender or if you manage to squeeze it in - it will fall off after going the first bump or pothole in the road. I tested all of car mounts (among my detailed reviews: http://androidforums.com/android-accessories/796475-twister-reviews-android-accessories-gadgets.html) and found only Arkon Slim Grip Ultra to stand up to a task. Highly recommend this one, reviewed here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2/694925-arkon-slim-grip-ultra-mount-car-home.html

But make sure you get their SM679 model (Amazon.com: ARKON Sticky Suction Deluxe Windshield Dashboard Car Mount for Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 3, iPhone 5/5c/5S and Smartphones - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories ) with a super sticky base, it will grip to any textured dashboard surface or windshield, and perfect for heavy duty or light duty use. Plus, arm extensions will hold Defender case or the case with an extended battery.
