Car Mount?

I'll be making the switch back to Android when the Note 4 is released.

I was wondering if anyone has a good suggestion for a nice sturdy car mount. I live in AZ and the summer temps inside the car can get above 120 degrees, so if I can avoid a suction cup mount I would like to.

I also drive a 2000 Toyota 4runner for reference and drive my vehicle off road on dirt roads, 4x4 trails that sometimes include very steep inclines and declines and bumpy terrain.
 
I use a 2" x 3" piece of commercial velcro. Soft side adhered oton the back of my phone case, clawed pieces adhered onto things I use as a mount. I use my shift lever in my GMC sierra as my mount with the velcro - works amazingly well, sits in the perfect postion to see and use from the drivers seat. I've also got pieces of clawed side velcro adhered on the middle of my motorcycle and ATV tanks. Yes, might sound cheesy but with the commercial strength velcro it will take a hell of a lot to dislodge the phone. So that's my car/cycle/atv and even backpacking mount (I have a piece of velcro stuck to the left front strap of my high end backpack). :)
 
That's a neat solution. I would need to get a case just for the Velcro though. I don't think I could stand having that on the back of my phone all the time.

I have several cases. But almost always use the one with the Velcro stuck on the back. In all actuality, no one has ever commented or noticed the patch of Velcro on the back of my phone unless I point it out. I only use TPU cases so having several $10 cases is par for the course for me. Anyway, this idea was given to me by a fellow cycle rider on how to mount my phone to my bike, and dang it works good in lot of situations. Like I said, I backpack a lot and I've got a piece of clawed side Velcro on the left upper strap of my backpack. Since I use my phone as my topo gps device it works great to stick my phone there then it is in easy reaching distance to look at or grab to check my track on the topo map. I live in Montana so you can get lost pretty easy in the backcountry without a good topo gps device at times, lol.
