Card icon frustration!

I'm fed up with trying & my local Boostmobile store is useless. I need a "hack" pro to help with a workaround.
Why do I keep seeing this icon & How do I get rid of it?? I already installed a brand new card (got the phone used) but I'm still seeing it.

Thanks for any help.

Is the phone locked to a different carrier? You are talking about the sim card icon, right?

"locked to different carrier"- I don't know for sure. All I do know is it says my cars is invalid. Mind you, I'm not having any seeable issues as a result. I'm just fed up of seeing it. Why is it saying its invalid?

When you pull the notification bar down, is that all it says? If you long-press the notification it will tell you which app is sending that message.

So you are saying that even though you have a notification of an invalid sim card, you still can call, text and access mobile data through boost?

Yeah, just "Invalid SIM card". I long held it & I saw my phone icon.
Yeah, & can call, text, etc. So, why does the icon continuously appear?

Honestly, I don't know. If the card is connecting to the network, it shouldn't show as invalid. What kind of phone have you got. The only other thing I can think of is it's a dual sim device and the old card is still in the second slot.

Sorry, I did see that this was posted in the S5 section. Was the original owner a Boost customer? Is the phone branded by carrier? Boost in the US is a Sprint mvno, so it's a CDMA device and uses the SIM only for LTE. Take the sim card out and see if you still have access to everything. If so, then they haven't activated the sim or it's not compatible with Boost.

Phones that are bought under a contract often times have the carriers logo printed on them, like AT&T or Verizon. That's what carrier branded refers to.
