anyone else here got a cash-only* account like me?

*cash only means verizon will only accept payments whether its bill payments or phone purchases by cash.. not any other way. I have a credit card and a debit card so that's not the problem

i'm scared because I tried to order an iPhone (before you verbally destroy me, I was gonna take it back for the Nexus lol) and they refused to let me get one because you can only order it online, and the stores dont take cash for online orders.. and Verizon REFUSES to lift the cash-only ban for me to get the phone. if the Nexus is supposed to have a web-only release, how in the world am I supposed to get this phone???

btw, I'm on an early upgrade, which makes it even worse because I can only get the phone from Verizon directly =/

someone help!

Well.... I don't know what makes you think that you can only order the phone online...... you can deffinately go into a Verizon store and purchase it right in the store. Also.... why are you on a cash only basis? I'm assuming a bounced check?

Can u make a cash payment on your account equivalent to the amount of purchase so ur account would show a credit, then use that credit for the purchase of the phone? You'll need to ask first b4 u try.

I think a friend of mine was on cash only and he needed a new phone, I seem to recall the store manager was able to place the online order for him but the phone had to come to the store. I think that was for a phone swap though so don't know if it will work.

Last suggestion, see if they will suspend the cash only just to let u complete the transaction then reinstate it. I know they can do that to allow u to pay by credit card even if you r cash only but it can only be done on the phone by financial services. I saw that done at a store recently when a woman forgot her some of her cash, the rep said "just call fin. serv, they can take it off to take a CC payment", she did and it worked.

Good luck!

Correct, Verizon only puts someone on a "Cash Only" basis for a reason. Like bouncing a check or some form of non-payment for a provided product or service. If the customer tried to "stiff'm" once, they will always takes measures to see that it doesn't happen a second time.

I seem to remember you need to make timely (not late) payments for at least 6 months before they will consider removing a customer from "cash only" status.
