now that I my phone is off contract and I'm free to do whatever.

I'm rooting and rom'ing and generally smurfing up my razr maxx. theory being now if I break it I can move on. but I also want to keep it as long as possible.

So what has changed what's different between this rom and the stocker - I assume less blur and less bloat.

but are there any specifics?

Theres plenty of roms to choose from over at xda, both stock powered like Catalyst and aosp powered and updated to kitkat
