cell phone bought from abroad is not catching signal

I've put Indian SIM card in an android cell phone bought from Singapore.
But mobile is not catching signal. Do I need to check any phone settings. Kindly assist me in this.

Hi, and welcome.

Did you already go into SIM Management and associate the carrier with calls, messaging, data, etc?

Also, make sure you click "more" under Wireless Settings and make sure the appropriate settings are made under Mobile Network Settings.

If none of that works, I would call the carrier and get their input.
