Cell signal problems

I brought my Note 9 from eBay two weeks ago I had problems with the battery it would drain 5% overnight fully charged. I thought it would settle after a few days the problem persisted found out it was the cell standby. I only get one bar or just nothing at all. I traded sims with my brother who was AT&T he has a S9 plus he gets two bars with Mint Mobile without dropping while I get just one bar or nothing at all with AT&T. Is there a way to fix it or do I get a replacement or my money back?

well let's have a dialog...

1. was the phone brand new? refurb? used?
2. did seller state any issues with the phone?
3. what is your current carrier?
4. if you had a prior android phone, was it on the same carrier? if so what was your cell strength? was it the same as what you have now on the ebay note 9?
5. have you factory reset the device?
6. you do have a manufacturer warranty with the phone. if you feel the phone is simply not working right and you want to keep it, you can reach out to samsung.
7. if you don't have time/patience/etc to do that, ask for a refund if you have the grace period with the seller.

1. The phone is brand new
2. Did not state problems since it is brand new
3. Current carrier is Mint Mobile
4. I had a moto x pure the signal strength was the same. Had that phone for 2 years
5. When I first got it I did a factory reset. Should I do a another factory reset
6.No I don't have manufacturer warranty with samsSam since I brought it from eBay

Unless the phone is gray market, you have a manufactures warranty. Even if it’s gray market, you have a warranty, it’s just not going to be in the US. I am ASSuming you are in the US.

Ok so signal strength seems to be what you are expecting to see, since your old phone saw the same.

To me, it sounds like the phone is fine, it may be some app you have that is causing the issue. The only way to rule out any apps is to remove them one by one, or with a factory reset phone, just use it for a day without any apps running and see if you still see the same issue with the cell standby.

Is it actually a US variant Galaxy Note9 with Snapdragon? Suggest you post the exact model number. But given that it came from Ebay, it may have come from Hong Kong or something and it has Exynos, i.e. it's possibly a grey import and may not be fully compatible with US networks.

I have a T-Mobile Moto E5 plus and a Verizon Moto E5 play. I found out that TMobile has alot of signal dead zones especially rural areas. I was in the Oklahoma area a few months ago for about a week and for almost five days of that week I had no cell phone service, no data, cellular, nothing all I got was a no cellular service available.
Got me a Verizon phone the next week and haven't had a serious issue with cellular service since.
