Cellphones & Cancer

For a long time I dismissed theories that cancer and cellphones are linked. But lately I have seen a number of articles on the subject including this one...
Warning, Your Cell Phone May Be Hazardous To Your Health: Gear + Gadgets: GQ

What do you all think? I have yet to see anything definitive, but the fact that more studies are popping up outside the US makes me wonder. We all know how powerful telecom lobbies are in this country. They could be stymieing these types of studies here.

Thoughts?

I'm no expert... but, lately these types of articles bother me.

I understand why people who have no idea about cellphones may think there is a danger of cancer..

However, a cellphone is really just a glorified radio. Radiowaves to my knowledge are sound waves... no one accuses the radio of causing cancer...

Then again, i'm not an expert... there may be other things which emit some form of cancerous xrays we are unaware of... but, radiation =/= radiowaves.

*Edit*.. food for thought, as widespread as cellphones are these days, is it possible to assume that people who have cellphones also are engaged in other activites compared to those who aren't?

I am critical.. but, I encourage critisizem of my post as well... Yes studies should be done.. but, questions should never stop being asked.. If there is radiation, it should be measurable..

If 40% of adults develop a tumor on the same side of their head as the side the cellphone is held up to.. what other causes are possible? if its the dominate side of the head there are is alot of other possibilites simply because there are other things they may do.

Sure it is a high number. sure it should be looked into.. but, I dunno. I always find studies interesting.. but

There are lies
there are damned lies
and then there are statistics..

Wish I knew the guy who said .. but, its not my quote, just giving that disclaimer
