Challenging question on usb connection

Hi I need some help. I cannot figure out a solution for my challenging problem. If I connect my MIO navigation device to my old android Samsung Tab using a USB cable, then all 2 folders on the MIO can be accessed (mio_system and mio_data) from the tab. But if connect the same navigation device via USB cable to my brand new Samsung smartphone (note9) then I can only see 1 folder (mio_system). The same is true for my Samsung S7. Again, from my old Samsung Tab I can see and can access both folders. I used different file explorers and made them show hidden files. Still the folder (mio_data) is not visible. MIO cannot help me. Please advice. What can be the reason of the different behaviour of both Androids machines in communication with the MIO device?

Have you tried downloading MIO software on you Note 9
I do not think there is MIO software for the note9 on Android that support file transfer, only for getting messages from the smartphone on the MIO. There is a filemanager for windows (CycloAgent) but that is not running on Android :-(
