We still need to know the where and the why?

if you are talking about your phone's Google Account, you must create a new email address, FDR the phone, and register it again.

If I'm wrong on that, would appreciate a better way, but that is what I had to do.

Hi,

It is not as dramatic as this since you can happily have two or more google accounts attached to your phone at any one time. I, for example, have my personal account, work account and also add my children's accounts to my phone when I need to buy an app for them (since I don't want my credit card info on their phones). So, simply create a new google account and add it under Settings->Personalisation->Accounts. No FDR necessary. You can then select which account you want to use in the play store or anywhere else the account is needed.

In the case you want to change, just delete the old account afterwards. Easy.
