Change phone for data plan

I have found a very cheap mobile data plan in country which I would like to use. The only issue is that the plan is locked down to be only be available for the Huawei P9 Lite and the Samsung J7 2017. I was wondering if I could change my build.prop file to the names of these phones, or somehow trick it into thinking I have one of them. My device is rooted (if that helps). Thanks 😀

Never heard of phone plans being cheaper for specific phones. Is that some kind of advertising trick?

It would really be determined by how your device was identified to your carrier.

Check if your current phone is even compatible with this different cellular service.

Different countries and different carriers rely on varied types and frequencies of cellular networks. If the cell radio chip inside your phone isn't compatible, it won't be a software tweak that will change that, it's a hardware thing.
