Changing display

I have changed display on my X10 mini. The original one got smashed.

But I have a problem, changing it out was easy enough but once that's done the display won't light up.

It looks as if the light comes and goes under a second but nothing is displayed.

If I change back to the original display it "works" like it did before.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Sound like a hardware problem. You may have a broken display.

I originally thought so too. I got the first display changed but the same thing happens with the second LCD display.

It's only the original broken display that actually display's anything.
