Changing Own Phone Number Display

Hi All, my problem is that the phone number in the memory that is displayed in the Settings>About Device>Status is not my number, how do you change this number? Phil

I believe it gets that number from the SIM card, and from what I can see you can't change it on the Galaxy S3. I had to put the SIM card into an old Nokia to change it.

That's right, stock android can't write the sim number details. Cyanogen based custom roms can but that's a bit far to go if you're not already rooted.

There's an app on the market but it didn't work for me. Forget its name now
