Changing plans after getting subsidized phone

So, like many others I was pissed to hear that I would have to leave my family plan to get a discount on the Nexus One. After doing a lot of reading, I came across this on T-Mobile's website. I'm not sure exactly what it means, but to me it says you could purchase a subsidized phone and change back to a family plan the next day.

Well from what I can understand of that, it says you can buy it subsidized and then change the plan, but you will have to pay T-Mobile an ETF and your Google Checkout account will be charged the price difference between the subsidized N1 and the un-subsidized one.

From what that link says, you will NOT be charged an ETF if you switch to a family plan that is in the Even More category. If you're on the Even More Plus category on your family plan, then yes.

Even More is roughly $20 extra per month, over it's Even More Plus equivalent, to account for subsidizing the phone.
