if, like, me you like to tinker with your devices to the fullest extent, then eventually you're going to be at the TWRP format menu where you'll be greeted with options of which particular option you'd like to format your data and system partitions here is some info as to which you should choose:
EXT2/3/4: These are the default Linux partition schemes, 2 being the oldest and 4 being the newest.
F2FS: Faster load times, and likely more space, but can't be mounted by twrp for whatever reason
FAT: Don't. if you're gonna do it, you're going to set it as an "encryted file system" which makes it reasonably difficult to reboot if you didn't enable encryption in your phone's settings.
