Charge on Credit Card, yet still Pending?

With some folks already receiving their orders, I am wondering if anyone is seeing a charge on their card without a shipping notice?

Yes, it showed before mine was shipped, but the charge should be pending as well. That is always been the case when I have ordered from Google. The charge won't be finalized generally until it is shipped and, depending on the time it takes, the charge may disappear and then come back. It is pretty much standard SOP for a merchant to test the card to see if it can process the charge, but the merchant still has to finalize the charge.

You are correct. The charge is actually a hold and will get funded when the device ships.

I have learned to demonstrate some patience when purchasing with Google after last year's Nexus 4 launch.

Oh, I'm being patient. I remember the Nexus 4 debacle all to well. Just curious because I've received devices from Google before the charge even went through. Wishful thinking this time! :)

I just checked - the Google charge is in Pending Transactions. They said that I wouldn't be charged until it shipped. Overall, it's not a big deal. I'll eventually get the device.

It's a customary procedure in retail sales to place a hold on funds that will be charged to a credit card once the product is available. It has nothing to do with Google.
