Charging battery question?

I place my Galaxy s3 on the charger every night.
The battery has never gone below 40%, will recharging every night damage or shorten the life of the battery?

if it does... mine's in trouble.

fortunately, Lithium batts dont have the similar issues like NiCads.

but then again, ask 100 people and you'll get 100 diff answers...

As said above. Not really much to worry. Li-Ion's do not suffer from "memory effect" so partial charge/discharge cycles not a problem.

I have read and tend to agree you should periodically do a full discharge/charge cycle to "stretch the legs". How often? Twice a month, once a month, once every two months? You decide.

Also OEM batt is what $50? Not the end of the world.

The old nickel cadmium batteries had this issue. I don't think they have been used for several years now. Modern lithium ion batteries can be charged every night even if they are not depleted without impacting battery life. In fact, it is best you do not fully drain modern lithium ion batteries. You should charge them before they deplete.
