Help charging Galaxy Note 5

If both charger and cable work with another phone, and the phone does not work on a different charger, then the problem is the phone. Beyond that it's impossible to say just from the fact that it doesn't work.

The easiest fix would be if there is some dirt of fluff in the socket blocking the charger. Had a look and if there is anything in there try an air blower or a soft brush to remove it. Hard objects like toothpicks can easily damage the contacts, so they should be a last resort and used with extreme care.

If the socket is clear then the problem probably either the socket (internally), the charging controller or the battery. All of those would be hardware repairs. If you have access to a compatible wireless charger you could see whether that works (if it does then it isn't the battery).

It's working now. My son told me he had it in the bathroom while taking a shower so he could listen to music. Said he has done this in the past with no problems. I'm guessing moister got into it this time. Thanks for the quick response. this is a great site.
