Charging? HTC Can't decide

Would appreciate any feedback on this.
I have been with HTC now for a good few years and lately progressed through the M7, M8, & now the M9, I had preordered the 10 which is due for delivery next week, but am now having serious thoughts about cancelling due to the charging issue. Due to my work I have a various number of chargers and power banks at various locations. The chargers are Aukey with quallcom 2 & the power banks are varied. A lot of money has been invested here.
I contacted HTC via twitter, facebook & the official help centre (phone).....All replied with conflicting results.
Help centre....said that I could use existing chargers & power banks but the display would give a warning which could be ignored
Facebook reply.... said they would not sanction anything but the official charger & cable
Twitter..... said they weren't able to to give me a definitive answer, but recommended the official charger & cable.
I have always purchased my phones sim free and do not relish having to pay again for new chargers power banks & cables making all recent purchases redundant.
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated...

I don't have a definitive answer but I can tell you what I have ans use. Using the Samsung base I have and used on a S2, Note 3, and HTC One M8 and the supplied USB C charging cable I get the charge light but no Quick charge message like I do with the supplied HTC 10 power block. The thing is the USB C cable doesn't fit in anything but my 10. No Quick charge message from any computers I've plugged into but no warning messages either.

Thanks for that, hope to get a concensus from others re this issue, was really looking forward to getting the 10 & hope this may still be the case. Only problem is that I have to decide within the next few days otherwise won't be able to cancel if I decide to go down that route..

I have an HTC One M9 and am upgrading to the 10. With the M9, I have lots of charging and battery issues. HTC wasn't very helpful, but Aukey (they make lots of quality aftermarket accessories) did help. I purchased a Quick Charge 2 from them. Later, I evaluated a Quick Charge 3 also. They claim a few things that seem to be true. First, to get QC (quick charge) to work, the phone's screen has to be off. They also say that it's safe to use a lesser charger on a phone. HTC confirmed that unknowingly by selling the M9 with a standard charger and selling their QC2 charger sometime later. Aukey claims with their quick chargers you can charge any phone because of protection wired into their chargers. From my limited understanding, QC chargers work by pumping more amperage into the battery. I can't see how using less "power" will do anything but slow things down or give an error window saying the charger you're using can't charge your phone. That has happened to me on my M9. Hope this helps.
