charging port issue in lenovo k6 power

I'm unable to charge my Lenovo K6 Power. When I took it for repair, I was told that the issue could be with the motherboard also. Are the charging port and the motherboard interconnected in any way? The phone is still under warranty. Will the phone get covered in this situation? Please guide me.

Why even bother, the phone is under warranty so let your carrier / manufacturer handle it.
