Help Charging port not working

Hello,

The last month or so I've been having problems with the charge port on my phone and can't figure out what could be the problem.

I've checked all the usual problems. Dust inside, bad cables, and even opened it up to see if there was broken solder or anything physically wrong with the port but it's all fine. However it just won't charge unless the cord is placed in a very particular position.

Does anyone know what the problem could be before I have to ship it off to get repaired (or most likely just replaced)?

That's an option but I can't haul around a wireless charging kit wherever I go like I can a cord.

I'm thinking I may just have to replace it...

U said in a particular position
It has a bad solder jus take a good look again
Grab a tester plug the cable check if theres a supply

Download the app Galaxy charging current lite.

It can show you the actual charge current received by your phone. The reference value should be 999 when using the mains and 466 on USB. The max shows you what you are actually getting versus this.

I have found on my S3 (which i think has a damaged port) that it sometimes thinks its connected as USB when connected to the mains. Also it never receives the reference value. max i get is 500 with a lead and charger from a huwawei phone, whereas the official samsung one that came with the phone only delivers 100.

Hope that helps you identify whats going on. If within warranty i would send to be fixed depending on how long you are planning on keeping your phone.
