Charging Problem

Hey guys,

Had my S6 Edge now for just under a year and when I'm charging the plug is getting very, very hot to the point where it's just cutting out the charge altogether. Anyone else experiencing this or have any solutions? It's very frustrating.

Mine gets very hot at the part wher it goes into the phone. Done that since when i bought it 6 months ago.

I do. I'm currently using my girlfriends charger which is a normal one, and that appears to be fine. Just a longer charging time that's all.

Try a few different ones, the plug is still burning up and cutting the charge out. The prongs on the plug look burnt as well

I'd try to not use it. It sounds like a fire waiting to happen. It's most likely defective and should be replaced.

Yeah I'm gonna contact Samsung, it's just about within 12 months old so surely they should replace it. I've ordered one from eBay but I don't think it'll be genuine tbh.

Nope, I don't. I simply charge my mobile normally.

Update - since i've been using the non-fast charger it's been fine. It takes a hell of a lot longer to charge, but it doesn't heat up so it must have been a faulty charger.

Maybe your charger is not compatible with the voltage in your country. Mostly chargers are multi-voltage compatible with an input 100v - 240v but yours may be different.

I've had the phone/charger for 12 months now, it's it's possible it's just burnt out.

You did the best thing for sure, as cheap as chargers are now it's certainly not worth risking a fire for!
