It wasn't that long ago when Google's Benson Leung said he would not recommend products like the HTC 10 or the LG G5 because they used Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology with their USB Type-C ports.
Jerry of Android Central recently plugged his HTC 10 into the regular Pixel C charger and when he came back home his HTC 10 was extremely hot. He was also greeted with a dialog box saying the charger he was using was incompatible with the HTC 10.
So be careful when charging USB Type-C smartphones with chargers that it didn't come with.
