Charging X10 mini

Hi, i'm new here and i have a question. when i have to charge my x10 mini i turn off the phone and connect it with the charger cable and automatically the x10 mini turns on. Is this ok or do i have a serious problem with it?, this is the second x10 mini in 3 days and the other one did the same thing. i'm new with the android OS so i'm clueless with this. Another thing, how many hours am i suppossed to charge my x10 mini?? i just charge it for less than 2 hours and it says it is fully charged.

This is normal for devices on Android 1.6 so don't worry. I believe that you can charge with the device turned off on 2.1 but I don't tend to bother to turn either my X8 or X10 off.

Both phones take between 2 -3 hours to fully charge, but they have a charge cycle... the phone charges up to 100% then the power switches off until the charge drops to the low 90's and then starts charging again. So if one morning you take it off charge and its only at say 95% don't panic, shove it back on charge while you have your breakfast and you will be good to go in no time at all.

Thanks!! by "the power switches off" you mean that the icon will change into normal baterry icon and then back to charging icon? is there a problem if i charge it more than the normal?? like 4 to 5 hours?
 
No problem at all, mine are left on all night every night and not seen any adverse effects!

I don't know about the icon cos I am normally tucked up asleep in bed :D

LOL. thanks!!! i feel relieved now, i was going crazy because here in my country costumer service is really bad and they contradict themselves (tech guys) a lot.
