I bought a brand new smartphone today. Do i have to charge it for 12 hours?

Id ignore that link above.. As it doesnt take account of the type of batteries used in mobile devices.. These behave very differently from lead acid cells.

In any case more than 12 hours has elapsed since March 17.. So I don't think the original poster is concerned about it any more.
