Help Cheap Android Box Issues

Maniax2

Lurker
So ive had couple of Android Boxes that ive acquired from Amazon before and its always a similar issue on this two:

EASYTONE T95Z PLUS Android TV Box w Android 7.1 (from this year)

also a very very old

M8S TV Box with Amlogic S812 w Android 4.4.2 (from 2014)

so i always encounter the problem that apps like Netflix suddenly disappear and cannot be downloaded from the google-playstore and the device cannot be updated (sometimes google-playstore disappears) and apps work for a time suddenly stop working a simple reset resolves this issue but has to be done constantly and its tiring...so i was wondering is the issue because they are Chinese android box ? is there a workaround to this?

welp i guess all of this chinese android tv boxes eventually have this type of issues , better get an amazon fire stick xD , or are there legitimate google branded android tvs?

I can't answer the second question, but the first I would guess that any device running Android prior to v5 is going to have issues. I would guess that the problem lies in the box trying to update apps from the play store and either not being compatible with your box or no longer supporting older versions of Android. That's why a reset 'fixes' it. You could try turning off all updates but that's not really a good practice.

Thank you very much for your answer so my old android box which uses v4.4 kitkat keeps trying to automatically update and thats what making all apps to dissapear ? has happend mostly with netflix , google playstore and even youtube!

ive manually downloaded them from apk mirror (at least the latest funcitional one for kitkat) and they work really well! until they get the error or dissapear! so how can you completely disable automatic updates of anything on those little android boxes to attempt to avoid this happening since the automatic updates are the culprit (for youtube, netflix and google aps in general)

It's been a while since i've seen Kitkat, but you should be able to go into the play store and turn off automatic updates for the apps. Just keep in mind, there will come a day when older versions of Youtube, Netflix, et. al. simply won't connect anymore to the parent network. Have you considered simply replacing it with something newer? There are some pretty decent boxes for under $100.
