Cheap G1 Stand

Just playing around with a paper clip and made this, the edges aren't as smooth as this guys, but it holds up horizontally with no trouble (vertically i would doubt it with the width of the phone). All in all it looks good on my desk.

Some people think this is "useless, boring" news. But for people like me who HAVE to have something to set/stand my devices on, it's invaluable!
Thanks for the idea and work smithey! You could probably popularize your idea with a couple of photos.

It's cheap and it folds flat to fits in your wallet. Designed for the iPhone originally, it will support the G1 as well.

here's a stand that works well for me, it grabs the charging cable so that any time you're charging the phone, it's held at a good angle: http://www.gphonestands.com. It's cheap, although I have to admit it's not as cheap as a paperclip
