Checking Data Usage for Prepaid Phone

gruvn

Lurker
Hi - I've noticed that the data usage as reported by my phone (Nexus 5) does not match the data usage as reported by Bell Mobility - it's off by a good 10MB, which is a fair amount, when I only have 100MB/month.

I've talked to Bell, and despite having their app "Self Serve", and reviewing their website with on of their reps, there does not seem to be a way for me to know how much data remains to me each month. People with plans definitely have access to this info, just not us prepaid peasants.

I'm having trouble believing that the only way I can know that I'm getting low is to get a text message from Bell warning me that I'm at 90%. Has anyone else experienced this, or better yet, found a way to track their data?

Cheers

Hi gruvn, and welcome to Android Forums :)

Most carriers have a special number that you can dial which will show your usage information. I *believe* that number is *1234 for Bell, but I can't confirm 100%.

Let us know if it does (or doesn't!) :D

Hey codesplice,
Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that code doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe it works for others, but for prepaid, it seems to do nothing.
Thanks again.

No worries - the post I found referencing that code was from 2002, so it was kind of a shot in the dark. I'll try to dig some more tomorrow to see if there's anything else that could be tried. :D
